I studied Armenian for five and a half months. I have never encountered this language before, I have never heard the Armenian word before.

But now I can read, write and speak Armenian.

Thanks to Yerevan State University, I have become rich with this beautiful and ancient language.

Thanks to Armenian lessons, I got acquainted with people from different countries.

We have all become good friends. I will never forget the time I spent at Yerevan State University.

My name is Nelli. I’m from Czech Republic, studying economics and finance in Charles university in Prague. As I was born in Armenia, I decided to come back to my motherland as an ERASMUS student. I chose five courses, in which I was most interested. Two courses (International finance and Monetary policy) I’ve studied with Armenian students both in English and Armenian. Other three of them (SPSS, Theory of Choice, Ethics in Business Communication) were only in English and I had individual study with the lectures. I’ve got so many new knowledges from every course I’ve chosen. The most interesting course was International finance, where I’ve got not only good knowledge but also found new friends, who were willing to help me with everything I could ask for. The SPSS course was very useful and I’m glad I chose that, because I did a project about Armenian demographics, especially about migration. The third most interesting course was Ethics in Business Communication, where we had interesting lectures and in every lecture we did case studies about ethics in real life, which can be useful for understanding and working in International environment. I recommend to go for Erasmus studies, especially to Armenia, because here combination of the University and the country is the best experience every student could ask for.

Second semester My overall experience here in Armenia has been great. I really enjoyed this time, exploring a territory that for me was not known. Dormitory: I arrived in Yerevan at 3.00 am, on 1 February, informing about this the responsable about my arrival, nonetheless I waited for 30 minutes outside the door, without internet and a bit lost. Moreover, my preference was a single room, but it was not available, so I'll stay around a week in a double room. In general, the dormitory is quite good, I have pointed out only two criticism: the kitchen and the distance with the center. About the first, something was not always in service (electric plate or microwave), meanwhile the distance, although there are public transport arriving in the center, has been the main reason for which I decided to move in a private flat in the center to be more comfortable also in arriving at university. Classes: During my stay at YSU, I had two courses: "Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and diplomacy" with professor Roman Karapetyan and "Russian language' with professor Daria Gazarova. I really enjoyed these classes and the reduced number of students allowed me to talk more in the case of the language course and to be more focused and free to ask several questions in the case of the professor Roman Karapetyan course. Moreover, both professors gave me their phone number to make communications faster. I really appreciated that because email can be not so effective when it comes to sudden changes in schedule time. Food: Armenian food is rich and varied. Unfortunately in march I had one food poisoning and I stayed very bad. I made some analysis and I discovered an intolerance for gluten and lactose products. This has made my diet strict and sometimes it is not so easy to find proper products. Fortunately, in the big Yerevan city I can find few products for me. Besides this, when I felt bed, I did not have any problems at the hospital and the staff was kind. So I strongly recommend the YSU and in general the experience in Armenia. It was a great honor and privilege for me to have the opportunity to study at the Yerevan State University and to receive a diploma from the Faculty of Theology in early June 2022. Yerevan State University is certainly one of the best universities in the former Soviet Union, and it should be noted that we are talking about a huge territory, 15 countries and about 300 million people. With constant progress and development, Yerevan State University is rapidly approaching the world's best universities, given the work and commitment of professors and students, who from year to year show remarkable results. Proof of this claim is the constant increase in the number of foreign students, as well as students from the Armenian diaspora at Yerevan State University. All of them have the opportunity to acquire a good knowledge of the Armenian language and history in the preparatory course, but also to achieve their goals while studying at the faculties of Yerevan State University.

My Armenian name is Lusine. I am twenty-four years old. I came to Armenia six months ago with great curiosity.

At first I knew very little Armenian.

In addition to the lesson, we went to the Genocide Memorial and Sevan together.

I hope I can speak Armenian fluently, I will know a lot about Armenia.

I am grateful to my teachers and classmates at Yerevan State University.

I am Persian, and that probably helped me a lot to understand Armenians and the Armenian language at once.

I have loved music since I was a child, I was captivated by Sayat-Nova's singing in Armenia.

It is true that the words were a little difficult for me, but I managed to overcome the difficulty with my teacher.

Yerevan State University has become dear to me. During the lessons we not only learned the language, but also got acquainted with the history and culture of Armenia.

The Armenian and Persian peoples have an ancient history, culture and settlements.

I am glad that our two peoples are also cooperating now.

It would be desirable for many Persian students to come to preparatory courses at Yerevan State University.

My experience at Yerevan State University has been great. The professors are very helpful and provide me with everything I need to work on my project. I also receive all necessary support from the remaining university staff. The installations are nice and it's a pleasure to work on my papers there.

The world is a book and those who don't travel read only a page.
